  • Wednesday, February 7, 2024, 10-11a - Two-Shots Instead of One: Using the Flipped Classroom to Teach Information Literacy (webinar), Lifelong Information Literacy (LILi): Michelle Sanchez, Reference Librarian at Chaffey College will discuss her experience utilizing the flipped classroom model with a sociology research methods course, addressing the collaboration process with requesting instructor, creation of the interactive tutorial using PlayPosit, and student engagement with the tutorial and during the in-person follow-up class.
     
  • Wednesday, February 7, 2024, 11a - Building Inclusive Online Tutorials (webinar), Georgia Library Association: Webinar will discuss content and structure choices that are possible in online tutorials to create inclusive, welcoming learning environments even without the benefits of personal interaction. Topics covered include diverse visual cues, multimodal approaches, and gender inclusive language.
     
  • Wednesday, February 7, 2024, 11a-12p - Personas, Pathways, And Badges In Professional Development: A Canvas Credentials Use Case (webinar), Online Learning Consortium: Focus on micro-credentialing, this session promises insights as we explore how OLC’s “Personas and Pathway” vision for professional learning was realized in Canvas Credentials.
     
  • Wednesday, February 7, 2024, 11a - Cultural Proficiencies for Racial Equity—A Framework (webinar), ACRL: The framework is a tool both theoretical and practical in its orientation, as a guide for developing personal, organizational, institutional, and systems-level knowledge and understanding of the nature of racism and its many manifestations, intended to provide the grounding needed to effect change in thinking, behavior, and practice that will lead to better outcomes for racialized and minoritized populations.
     
  • Thursday, February 8, 2024, 11a - An Overview of Hispanics in America (webinar), US Census: Provides an overview of the Hispanic population in the U.S. We will explore data from the 2020 Census Detailed Demographic and Housing Characteristics  and the American Community Survey.
     
  • Thursday, February 15, 2024, 12-4p - Strategic, Sustainable Hybrid Library Services (workshop), College of the Canyons Library (Canyon Country campus library at the College of the Canyons, 17200 Sierra Highway, Canyon Country, CA): This workshop will allow participants to reflect on user needs, strategize to balance providing library services in a hybrid society, and become deliberate in how to develop, sustain, and assess. Lunch provided.
